The rest of the Peruvian trip

Hi! Hope you are well!

I realised that I hadn't written about the rest of the Peruvian trip, so I'll put some pictures.

Machu Picchu

It is a rainy season there, so I didn't see any sunshine while I was there. But it was still beautiful.

Dry season is apparently around May - September if you are thinking of going.

The flight from Lima to Cusco couldn't land and we needed to fly back to Lima for refuelling, so we landed about 4hours later than scheduled. One more bad things about travelling during rainy season!

Otherwise, it was quite easy to get around. The train was on time and clean.

But be aware, the Peruvian drivers can be reckless(from my Japanese point of view), and there have been many accidents involving the buses.

And these pictures are of Humantay Lake, about 2.5 hours drive from Cusco.

I actually liked this place more than Machu Picchu. Very calm and beautiful.

I joined an one day tour, the an hour hike was really tough, (over 4000m high) but it worth it!!

After I left Cusco, I headed to Arequipa, the second biggest city in Peru.

It was my final destination, so I didn't do too much. Just visited a few museums, famous monastery, reading in a cafe, just walked around..

↓hotel I stayed in Arequipa.

Huge latte

The pictures below were from the monastery. Very peaceful, full of flowers. Quite interesting guided tour.

They didn't have any electricity or gas till 1970. This is the kitchen.

Over all, it was really nice holiday. Loved the mountains, the cities, food, interesting history (and a bit sad about the history. Mixed feelings)

No holiday for a while now.

Looking forward to the spring in London!!
